Prayer of Examen
We have been exploring the kindness and goodness of God amid our personal lives which are full of challenge and difficulty amongst the joys. Many of us have unanswered prayers and yearn for greater blessings in our lives. But how much of God’s love and blessings do we miss in our daily struggles? I for one, know that God has abundantly blessed me every day, but in my focus on other things, I fail to see the goodness of God. St Ignatius developed a prayer for the end of the day – which helped to foster an attitude of gratefulness and thanks for all that God has gifted us with in our everyday life. I have often prayed this quietly when I have laid in bed at night, and it continued to renew my heart in Christ. It is a simple prayer of the following:
