Not everyone has the privilege of growing old. Within faith communities there is often a disproportionate number of older people.. A powerful narrative of lament often exists concerning the absence of youth / families within faith communities and what this might mean for the longevity of the church.

Prayer Vigil for Peace in the Middle East
Last Sunday evening we gathered to pray for peace in the Middle East. The following is a modified version of a prayer template and request from the churches in Israel, the Palestinian territories and Gaza for prayer. It was a wonderful night, where we formed our own personal prayers and surrendered them to Christ. We would understand as a peace-loving community that the partisan politics being carried out in our media and community is concerning and disheartening.

Recollecting walking the streets of Cairo, I remember the noisy music of the people, cars, motorcycles, donkeys, the market, the music and the songs of Om Kulsum on the radio.
Our Prayers for the War between Israel and Hamas
I’m sure if you are watching the 24-hour newscast you will be shocked, dismayed, and desperate for the children in Gaza and the ongoing war which seems to be without end between Israel and Hamas.
